Megan Kennedy and the team from the Joint Genome Institute (JGI) of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory came home from San Antonio as two-time Ergo Cup winners. The senior research technician for the US Department of Energy was understandably pleased about the victory, but more satisfaction came from sharing her team's ideas. The JGI's winner in the Ergonomic Program Improvement Initiatives category was called "Empowering Employees In Ergonomics." Honda of America's East Liberty, OH, plant's work on flexible painting fixtures took home the cup for Engineering/Ergonomist-Driven Workplace Solutions, while GE Energy's "Closure Blade Installation -- the 'Lock Driver,'" won the Team-Driven Workplace Solutions Ergo Cup. And while the Ergo Cup winners may have taken the glory, an off-site cooking class was a hit for some participants.
