Nominating for the Community Liaison Group

Thank you for your interest in nominating for the Wells Crossing to Iluka Road Upgrade
Community Liaison Groups (CLG).

Three CLGs are being formed so that community, business and other local interest group
representatives can provide input into the options development and later, the detailed
design of the preferred option and construction phase of the project. This input is invited
particularly in relation to those aspects that are most relevant to the local community,
businesses and the natural environment.

Each CLG member will be encouraged to add value to the group by providing information
and ideas from the community’s perspective. It is also important that all members
respect the views of other CLG members and be committed to resolving any differing
opinions in a positive and timely manner for the successful operation of the CLG as a
whole.

The CLGs must represent the widest possible range of local community and business
interests and views. Up to 15 community representatives will be selected by the project
team on the basis of achieving broad local community representation on the groups.

It is vital that you provide as much relevant information as possible so that an informed
decision can be made in regard to your nomination. Before nominating, please take the
time to read the following documents carefully which have been provided to assist you in
making a decision:

 Draft charter for the CLG - this outlines the purpose of the CLG and the various roles
    and responsibilities.
 Nomination form - for you to complete and return (with any supporting documents).

You may nominate as an individual (resident, property owner, or business operator) or as
a representative of a local community organisation or interest group, or as a
representative of a neighbourhood (group of residents). If you are representing a group
or other residents, you will need to provide written documentation that you are this
group’s nominee for the CLG.
If a large number of nominations are received, members will be selected to represent the
most relevant range of community, business and environmental issues as possible to
assist development of the project.

Late nominations will only be considered if insufficient eligible nominations are received
by the closing date below.

If you require any further information to assist you in deciding whether to nominate or to
enable you to submit a nomination, please contact the Project Information Line on 1800
557 673.

PLEASE NOTE – Nominations close on Friday 3 December 2004
