Disease Brochures
OVERVIEW You will create a brochure about a disease we will be studying in class! CONTENT You must have the following important information for your brochure: 1. Overall Description of the Disease. Be sure to include; a. Infectious or Non-infectious b. Famous people associated with the disease c. Discovery d. Other common names 2. Causes of the Disease. Be sure to include; a. Bacterial, Viral, or other, if infectious b. How contagious it is, if infectious c. If non-infectious give theories about its origins 3. Symptoms of the Disease. Be sure to include; a. Organ Systems affected 4. Cures and Treatments – Can it be cured and if so with what? If it is incurable, how will they treat the disease to better the life of the infected? 5. Side Effects – What else can happen to the body(other than the normal symptoms) as a result of the disease or the treatments. 6. Images showing the disease or people infected with the disease. BROCHURE SETUP You will place all this information in a four page brochure in any order you choose. The brochure must have a title page on front and the bibliography in correct format on the back. All the other information (excluding pictures) must be included inside. The bibliography must include 2 sources minimum!!! The title page must include the disease name, a phrase about the disease, and a picture that helps illustrate the disease, as well as have graphics and color to display your work SCORING The scoring will be very simple: 20 points total for the Cover 20 points total for the Bibliography 60 points total for the inside information You will lose 3 points for each failure to include the required information and for any incorrect information! Each grammar mistake will be 1 point off. Ten points will be taken off for the bibliography being in incorrect form or plagiarizing from a website or resource.
