Q. Would you like to make any additional comments or suggestions for future forums? All organisations seemed passionate about their role in smoking cessation. Hand outs on the day would have been useful. Excellent – Please Please ensure there is a top down approach to implementation of an action plan. The same issues have been around for a decade, and despite committed professionals we are still struggling. An update on good and improving practice – market importance of good and future health benefits as well as smoking cessation. Needs to link to other maternal health issues eg breastfeeding and obesity. Lots of pressures for marketing staff to attend the training vs other priorities within Trusts – difficult to accommodate. Must get GPs and pharmacies on board as first port of call, as well as youth workers. Could have been publicised more generally to all health workers. HIC very well organised. Wonderful/motivating summit. Would be useful to have delegate lists available. Would have been useful to have the presentations in the packs. A follow up event next year, by which time more info is needed on actual numbers of women smoking and quitting during pregnancy.
