Constantly reading professional literature. In tune with the flow of patient care on the unit while acting as Clinical Manager. Awarded two recognitions for appropriate use of the Critical Rescue Team from Colleen Hallburg and Kathy Scott. Organizing a team for obtaining advanced certification in progressive care from the AACN. Organizational Stewardship    Co-edited Achieving Magnet Status published in Nursing Administration Quarterly Member of the Role Expectation Steering Team (REST) Super-user of Cerner Millennium and instructing staff on its use Professional Contribution Evidenced-Based Practice    Supporting evidenced-based practice in reducing companions at bedside Used a research-based article that emphasized how affective domains of the nurse influence patient care and presented the article to REST Explain to staff how the new care plans and white boards are putting theory into practice under Imogene King’s theory of Goal Attainment Clinical Example      Patient with elevated serial troponins and clinically symptomatic for 8 hours. Instructed day nurse to call cardiologist and entered patient’s room. Patient found in recliner with no oxygen, diaphoretic, emesing, and 8/10 chest pain. Explanation given to patient’s family to translate while providing urgent care. Applied MONA: Morphine, Oxygen, Nitroglycerin, and Aspirin. Clinical Example     Provided day nurse with relevant data while she was on the telephone with cardiologist. Spoke to CCU nurse on the floor, who started the Tridil drip. Called House Supervisor, Bed Placement, and SWAT nurse for transfer of patient to CCU. Patient safely off the unit to CCU within 45 minutes with a decrease of chest pain of 4/10 as reported by patient.
