                                                       to measure up. Formula 1 is supposed to be the top of the tree,
                                                       and Massa, through talent, hard work and a perfect driver-
                                                       engineer working relationship with Rob Smedley, had climbed
                                                       to the uppermost branches.
                                                           Without Felipe or Michael Schumacher available, Badoer’s
                                                       predictable failure as a last-minute stand-in proved that, contrary
