C. Submissions of papers related to teleology from any field are welcome, addressing such questions as: The genre itself, as we approach it, excludes the following: 1 works of intellectual history written about metaphysical ideas (although original work rising from historical issues may qualify); 2 surveys and commentaries, however competent, on the doctrines of other metaphysicians, ancient or modern (although fresh metaphysical work approached through commentary may also qualify); 3 collections of essays by various authors; 4 works that feature "extended" uses of the term "metaphysics" (as, for example, in popular texts that confuse the term with spiritualism and the like); 5 works by critical theorists and by analytical philosophers who misleadingly apply the term in clearly nonmetaphysical frames of reference, such as formal logic, semantic theory, cognitive science, and information theory.
