Contractors are not optimistic about the prospects for a near-term recovery in the highway construction sector, according to a survey from the Transportation Construction Coalition. Almost 78% of the 527 construction companies responding said they expected business in their particular market to decline next year because of the slow economy and expected decreases in state and local highway construction revenue funding, TCC said.
