Jim MacPhee, chairman-elect of the Independent Community Bankers of America, gave his authence at the annual meeting of the Nebraska Independent Community Bankers a description of the challenges that face their industry. MacPhee, president of Kalamazoo County State Bank in Schoolcraft, Mich., delivered his remarks in Lincoln at the Oct. 22-23 meeting. MacPhee said Congress is going to pass legislation creating a consumer financial protection agency. ICBA opposes the idea, but MacPhee said passage is inevitable.
