Caracol Cream as adjuvant treatment of burns and grafts scars
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY CHILEAN MAGAZINE[ Nº 4, November 2004 ] Occupational Therapy School / Medicine Faculty – Chilean University
Elacine is extracted from snail secretions and is the main ingredient in Caracol Cream. In this Caracol Cream reviews is demonstrated the efficiency of this Wrinkle Cream in scars and grafts. During the study period joined the protocol and completed the treatment and controls 36 patients: 18 were treated with Elicine and 18 with Novobase. Of these, 20 were women and 16 men. The distribution according to age groups, location and length of the scars and grafts are shown in tables and graphs: Figure 1: Age groups

In addition to the application of creams, 75% of the sequels were treated with other therapies, particularly compression, which remained as long as the cream was applied. There were no significant differences between the two groups of patients (Elicine / Novobase) in the concomitant therapy creams. The remaining 25% of the patients received the cream as unique treatment. The type of treatment, concomitant with the creams, is shown in Table 4.

Improved the texture of the graft in 3 patients: 16.6% of patients who use Elicine Texture in scars: no changes were observed using Elicine cream or cream Novobase. With the aim to visualize more clearly the differences in the results obtained with the two creams were awarded the following scores:

Results The work is a preliminary study in which we observe that the Elicine cream appears to be effective in achieving partial depigmentation of grafts, 22.2% of patients who used Elicine remained pigmentation and a 77.7% decrease. Using cream Novobase, a 94.4% of patients had pigmentation and only a 5.5% decrease was observed. As for texture, 16.6% of patients who used Elicine grafts were improved, however, no change was observed with the use of Elicine in Novobase or scarring. The universe of patients studied 44.4% had compression therapy during the study. All patients in whom a diminution in the height of hypertrophic scars (38.8%) were treated with compression parallel to the use of creams. 66% showed changes in one of the aspects evaluated, 27.7% received a change in two variables and a 5.5% there was no observable change. Caracol Cream is recommended as skin treatment for aging skins, acne, scars and grafts. Caracol Cream can be tested for free.
