(2005a; 2005b; 2006), an ??-based optimization technique, namely, the binary-coded elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm with the modi- fied jumping gene operator (NSGA-II-mJG), was developed for the optimal synthesis and design of flotation circuits. Several single- as well as multi-objective circuit optimization problems (Guria et al., 2005a, Guria et al., 2005b; Guria et al., 2006) were solved. These illustrated the efficacy of this algorithm.
