Dear Applicant:

We are excited that you have decided to apply for the 2008-2009 Student Center Work-
Study position. The Student Center offers many exciting opportunities for you to gain
valuable job skills, leadership qualities and have fun.

To begin the application process, read the job description for the Student Center
Representative below to familiarize yourself with the positions available, the
responsibilities of each position, and the financial compensation. Complete the
application included in this packet along with your responses to the application
questions. You are also required to have one reference. Make sure to give your
reference a copy of the recommendation form that they will turn in to me.

Submit your completed application, a copy of your financial aid award letter, and
your Fall 2008 class schedule to the Student Center desk located in Marian Hall or
send via mail to the address below. Once you submit your application, e-mail Steven
Tiffany, Student Center Manager, to sign up for an interview (20-30 minutes).

Student Center - Customer Service Representatives
Report to Supervisors
     Assist customers with questions, directions, information, and purchases
     Properly handle cash and check transactions
     Take room counts as directed
     Assist in the administration of surveys
     Assist in setting up furniture and equipment for events
     Ensure that all areas of the Student Center are clear of trash
     Review bulletin boards for items that have expired or are not stamped with approval
     Ensure that items are not placed in areas that are not allowed (Example: fliers should not be taped
         to doors)
     Monitor game room to ensure equipment is being used for intended purposes and that it is not
         being abused (Example: Pools sticks should only be used to play pool and not twirled like a baton)
     Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Supervisors, or Assistant Director of Leadership

The Student Center at the University of the Incarnate Word is seeking applicants for
work-study positions that are paid. Student Center Representatives must be capable of
organizing and managing commitments. The student must also demonstrate the ability
to manage academic responsibilities as well as those of Student Center
Representatives. To be successful, it is anticipated that members must possess or be
