         MALAYSIAN & SINGAPOREAN F&B ASSOCIATIONS SIGN
                MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING


Kuala Lumpur, 14 August 2007: The Food and
Beverage Managers’ Association, Singapore
(FBMA), and The Malaysian Food and Beverage
Executives Association (MFBEA) have entered
into a 3-year Memorandum of Understanding
with the main objective of providing strong
networking opportunities as well as exchanging valuable knowledge and
information.


                                            This    will   promote   the    highest
                                            professional        standards        of
                                            management,         education      and
                                            recruitment in the hospitality industry
                                            of the two countries for the benefit of
                                            the Association and their members in
                                            both Singapore and Malaysia.


Both associations will work together to develop and sustain a hospitality industry-
friendly business environment in Singapore and Malaysia, ensuring the best
possible opportunity for hotels, clubs and restaurant operators to flourish in
Singapore and Malaysia.

OBJECTIVES


Both associations are committed to:
   enhance the image of the industry and promote professionalism of the
   hospitality industry in all aspects;
   promote educational interests relating to hospitality with opportunities to
   travel abroad to pursue some educational courses, study programme or
   cross exposures;
   strengthen skills, knowledge and professionalism in food & beverages;
   improve work environment and processes;
   create career progression through skills upgrading and development
   programme;
   increase overall job satisfaction and employability;
   develop industry communication which includes sharing common work
   challenges,     opportunities and solutions;
   create networking opportunities for our members.


The Food and Beverage Managers' Association is looking forward to its
collaboration with the Malaysian Food and Beverage Executives Association on
14 August 2007. We value our strong international ties with Malaysia and this
MOU is the first between both industry associations from both countries. The
signing of MOU will boost the level of partnership between two countries and also
formalise an important partnership that will bring together the professional
services, networking and recruitment opportunities as well as goodwill and
information exchange about the F&B industry and operations in Malaysia. It will
also bring together opportunities for industry growth between the two
associations.

FBMA and MFBEA have the reach and expertise to leverage our strengths to
achieve an important common goal - to enhance the image of the industry and
promote professionalism of the hospitality industry in all aspects for the mutual
benefits of both associations and our members.

The partnership also signifies both associations' commitment to work together in
promoting the service standards in both countries and globally as well as
identifying opportunities of such partnerships globally.

About the Malaysian Food & Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA)

Upon its inception in 1988, The Malaysian Food & Beverage Executives
Association (MFBEA) represents the interest of a fast rising breed of F&B
professionals in the Malaysian hospitality field. It’s prime objective is to upgrade
the standards and raise the image of the industry and the professionals. Part of
the Association’s programmes includes charity events, seminars, F & B
competitions, etiquette workshops, education awareness and field trips and F&B
fests, which are organized annually. Monthly or bi- monthly fellowships are also
held for members to network and receive updates. Membership categories range
from honorary to fellow, full, ordinary, associate as well as student.
