Annual Job Fair

Development Division (WDD) was eager to
assist hundreds of job seekers at the recent
Community Job Fair held at Dodger Stadium.
More than 100 employers including, the U. S.
Forest Service, United Parcel Service, Kragen
Auto Parts, and the Los Angeles Police and
Fire Departments were available to speak with
potential employees and take applications.

to keep L.A. working. This is done through a
wide variety of quality employment services
for job seekers and employers including free
job listings, referral information, job placement
workshops and specialized training at 18
WorkSource Centers throughout Los Angeles.

was the WorkSource Center “on wheels.”
It’s a van outfitted with computers, Internet
access, resume writing programs and more. Job
seekers are able to sit at computer workstations
and avail themselves of the services found at
WorkSource Centers. Throughout the day, the
van was packed.
“We have one mission and that is to assist people
in obtaining employment. The WorkSource van
is a terrific resource at job fairs because it
brings the job search tools directly to the job
seeker,” said Robert Sainz, CDD Assistant

Worksource California, City of Los Angeles

Becerra, Congressmember Lucille Roybal-
Allard, Congressember Hilda Solis, State Board
of Equalization Chair John Chiang, Senator
Jack Scott, Speaker of the California Assembly
Fabian Nuñez, Assembly member Carol Liu and
Supervisor Gloria Molina, City Councilmembers
Ed Reyes, Eric Garcetti, Jose Huizar, Jan Perry
and LAUSD Board member David Tokofsky.
