             Arts & Crafts, on A Summer’s Day in State College
The Harrisburg Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association has chartered a
bus to Boalsburg and State College for the Arts Festivals. The trip will take
place Saturday, July 12th. The bus will leave the Harrisburg East Mall Parking
Lot, light pole 32. The bus will leave promptly at 8:30 am, so don’t be late!!
A light breakfast will be served on the bus. You can choose to be dropped off
at the craft fair in Boalsburg for 3 hours and then continue on to State College,
or you can choose to spend the entire day at the Arts Festival in State College.

The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts is an annual celebration of the visual and performing arts
                  that takes place each July in downtown State College and on the adjacent campus of
                  Penn State. The Festival attracts about 100,000 visitors to State College each summer.
                  The Festival includes the nationally recognized Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition, which is
                  a juried outdoor show of quality fine art and fine crafts, approximately 325 exhibitors.
                  The festival also includes music, dance, and theatrical performances. Even though the
                  summer is typically a slow time, all of the Downtown shops and restaurants are will be
                  open and busy for this 5 day Festival.

The People's Choice Festival of Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts, takes place at the Pennsylvania Military
Museum Grounds in Boalsburg, PA. It runs at the same time as the Central
Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts and to showcase the creativity and work-
manship of artisans living in Pennsylvania. It is estimated that more than
80,000 people visited the festival in 2001. The 2001 festival featured 162 art-
ists, 48 musical performances taking place in two entertainment tents, a dem-
onstration village, food vendors' booths, a young artisan sales area, and nu-
merous youth activities.

 The last Board Meeting of the 2002-2003 Chapter will be held on Monday, June 2, 2003 6:30 pm at Gullifty’s. Dur-
 ing this meeting the Chapter will hold our Annual Election of Board Members followed by the Board electing the Of-
 ficers of the Chapter. Please come out and vote and support your Chapter. Following the election a planning session
 will be on the agenda for the 2003-2004 Calendar of Events. If you have ideas come out and share. We hope to see
 you at the meeting.

                       Senators Baseball Game and Family Picnic

                                  5:30 pm-7:00 pm
              The Harrisburg Chapter is sponsoring an evening with the Harrisburg Senators on
          Wednesday June 25th with a Picnic beginning at 5:30 p.m. We will be located near the
               right field foul pole in the Picnic area. Come out and see the Senators play the
          Erie Sea Wolves (Detroit Tigers affiliation) and enjoy a Picnic Dinner and baseball game.
             Come out with your family, meet other Penn Staters and enjoy a night of baseball.
                  The cost of the event is $13 for Adult Members, $18 for Adult Non-Members,
                    $5 for children (12 years and under), and Children 2 and under are free.
                     Included in the cost is your game ticket and a picnic dinner including:
                 Grilled BBQ Chicken Breast, Hotdogs/Hamburgers, Baked Beans, Potato Salad,
                                   Macaroni Salad, Chips, Cookies, & Soda.

The Harrisburg Chapter’s Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament takes place on Friday,
May 30th at Range End Golf Course near Dillsburg. This years event includes an after-
noon of golf followed by a dinner at 6 PM and a raffle with lots of great prizes. This
