   ATTENTION ASPMN Members in the Military!
At the ASPMN 18th National Conference this September, we
would like to recognize our members in the military! If you (or
any others in pain management nursing) have served in the
armed forces, please send a picture to christie@aspmn.org
along with the name, rank and where they served/were sta-
tioned, and we will include them in our tribute! Please submit
the information by June 1, 2008.

 Take the Pain Management Nursing Certification Exam at
            the National Conference in Tucson!

certification exam at the ASPMN conference? The

Interested in taking the Pain Management Nursing
certification exam at the ASPMN conference? The
American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC)
is pleased to announce that on-site testing will
be available at the ASPMN conference in Sep-
tember.

The paper/pencil version of the certification test will be held on Thursday,
September 4 and check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m., the test will begin at 9:00
a.m. Candidates should arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. as registration can be
time-consuming. The exam instructions should start between 8:00 a.m. -
8:15 a.m. Please note the actual time allotted for the exam is 3.5 hours.
Space is limited (25 seats total available).

The application must be sent in TO ANCC by the deadline of June 30,
2008 in order to sit for the exam. Please note the date is final and is NOT a
postmarked date. Please do not send the application to ASPMN as we will not
forward the application.

Your leadership skills are Key to our Success! Exciting new opportunity in Kansas City for a
clinically competent leader to develop, promote and deliver services to our patients with acute and/or
chronic pain. In close collaboration with the Ortho/Neuro Service Line Director and the Medical
Director, manage clinical and business operations, including human resource management and staff
development, and assist in growth and strategic business development of the Center.
A BSN, KS RN license, BCLS (healthcare provide) and ACLS; and two years of experience as a reg-
istered nurse supervising/managing an outpatient or pain management clinic. One year of demon-
strated successful experience developing, promoting and growing clinical programs is also required.
Candidates must be proficient in personal computer applications, preferably Microsoft Office prod-
ucts, and demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver clinical lectures and service proposals. Ex-
perience in marketing or sales for an outpatient pain center practice and a Masters in Nursing, Busi-
ness or related field are preferred.
