During the past two decades, TEC Industrial has expanded its mechanical power transmission expertise into contract manufacturing of industrial equipment with national and even worldwide application. TEC Industrial is also a distributor for several lines of motors and drives, as well as numerous bearing, gearing, belt, and chain products. Motor rewinding is now a small part of the company's business. In 1975, it purchased the assets of a small machine shop, including two lathes and a milling machine that are still in use. Since then, the emphasis has been on mechanical repair and job shop fabrication, with addition of three CNC machines plus MIG/TIG welding capability. The present shop building was originally a truck repair facility, containing only two jib cranes. Six more (built in the shop) have since been installed, together with many items not usually found in an apparatus service center. The shop works only with low-voltage motors (no formed coils), with a limit of about 500 horsepower.
