1 SECTOR OVERVIEW
Following expansion at a compound annual growth rate of -13.37% between 2005-2009, the new multi-family housing
construction sector in Ukraine reached a value of US$69.76 million in 2009, which represented a decrease of 65.83%
on 2008. The market achieved its strongest performance in 2007 when it expanded by 24.56% and its weakest
performance in 2009, when it fell by 65.83%.

In comparison, the fastest growing construction sector of the residential construction market between 2005-2009 was
the residential building redevelopment construction sector, which declined a CARC of 9.79%. The weakest performer
was single-family housing, which only declined a CARC of 19.47%

By 2009, the new multi-family housing accounted for 15.71% of the residential construction. In comparison, residential
building redevelopment represented 59.43% while single-family housing generated a further 24.87% of the market's
2009 share.

Looking ahead, the new multi-family housing market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 2.01% between 2009-2014,
reaching a value of US$ 77.04 million in 2014. This represents total growth of -37.80% since 2005 and 10.44% since
2009.

In comparison, the fastest growing construction sector of the residential construction market between 2009-2014 is
expected to be residential building redevelopment, which is predicted to achieve a CAGR of 4.36% The weakest
performer is expected to be single-family housing, which is forecast to only decline a CARC of 2.11%.

By 2014, the new multi-family housing is forecast to account for 15.31% of the residential construction. In comparison,
residential building redevelopment is predicted to account for 64.95%, while single-family housing is expected to
generate a further 19.73% of the market's 2014 share.
