[...] we weren't concerned with representational accuracy or symmetry - students were to visually brainstorm the ideas they presented, simply and clearly creating symbols that effectively communicated their personal connections to the seasons. The next step was to go over the pencil lines with a thin, black permanent marker, and residual pencil lines were erased.
