  Public Relations Efforts
We have distributed a press release in English
and in Spanish throughout the areas where
EITC/VIDA Matched Savings Weekend activities
will be happening.

We have also distributed public service
announcements in both English and Spanish – in
both 30 and 15 second increments, to radio
stations in these same areas.

Matched Savings Weekend
To prepare for the weekend, we will be
sending the participating VIDA
Intermediaries a checklist and the actual
items you will need in your “Matched Savings
Weekend” tool kit.

          The Contest
The weekend event will include a contest
among participating VIDA intermediaries.

We will award the site with the most VIDA
applications sent into DHCD from Feb. 20th to
April 30th a prize of $50 per eligible saver
application, up to $500.

          The Contest
• Hosting the event consist of passing out
  VIDA marketing materials and talking to tax
  center clients about the VIDA program in
  an effort to encourage them to apply.

• Use the referral sign-in sheets to collect
  potential applicants’ contact information
  and follow-up with them about submitting a
  VIDA application.

             Eligibility
• The site must have a representative
  present during the event. Prefer at least
  four hours.

• The site can send volunteers or staff to
  represent the organization

              Eligibility
The winner of the contest will be determined by
the VIDA site that has the most new, eligible
applications to the VIDA program submitted to
DHCD between Friday, Feb. 20 and Thursday,
April 30, 2009.

Applications must be post marked by Thursday,
April 30, 2009 in order to qualify for the contest.
This includes sending packages overnight and
hand delivery.

               Eligibility
• An eligible saver application is an individual
  that meets program requirements and is
  accepted into the program.

• Applications that are incomplete or do not
  meet program guidelines will not be contest
  eligible.

• Applications can be accepted from other
  sources besides the free tax center.
