Converting Documents to PDF (Portable Document Format) Files
The following instructions will show you how to convert Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations to PDF files. For WordPerfect documents, first open the document in Microsoft Word and save as a Microsoft Word document. Then follow the instructions the instructions below. Open the file you want to convert to PDF in the appropriate software application: Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint. You will see one or more Adobe icons on your toolbar. Click the Adobe icon that says Convert to Adobe PDF( see the Adobe PF menu for settings) when you mouse over it. This icon will convert your file and let you save it on your computer, to a zip drive, to a CD, to a diskette or to a network drive. It is usually the first of three Adobe icons.

The Save Adobe PDF File As window will open.
Click the down arrow in the Save in textbox and select a location on your computer or on the Xavier network where you want to save your converted PDF file. My Documents is selected.
These are the local drives where you can save your PDF file. These are the network drives where you can save your PDF file.

The My Documents folder is located on the C drive of your computer. Once you have selected where you want to save your PDF file, click the Save button.
Wait while Adobe converts your file to PDF.

When the conversion is complete, Adobe will open a new window and display your converted PDF file. It is not necessary to save the file again.
