Basic ANGEL Features Overview:
After you log into the ANGEL system, you will be brought to your personalized ANGEL
homepage. Here you will have direct access to your course links, new ANGEL email, the
calendars, your personal file storage areas and personal preferences. Click on any link
under “COURSES” and you will enter the online classroom.

Here are the main ANGEL menu options that you will find, no matter where you are in
the system, on the left-hand side of the screen:

                                 Fall 2007 – ITC
                      Schenectady County Community College
Once you click on a course link, you will be brought to the main view of the course. You
will navigate the course using the links at the top of the page: “Syllabus, Calendar,
Lessons, In Touch and Report.” The secondary navigation menu links below are
considered “breadcrumbs,” or quick links leading to where you are in the course.

Your professor will post all course materials such as assignments and handouts in the
“LESSONS/LEARNING MODULES” area. All of the documents in the Learning
Modules area are links that you click on to get to the content. This is the first area you
should check when you sign into the course.

ANGEL Course Mail/Email

Click on the “IN TOUCH” link to send “email” or in ANGEL “course mail” to other
students and the professor.

The interface looks just like most email programs, the difference being that you CAN
NOT send email out of Angel to a regular email account, and you can’t send email into
Angel from an outside email account (ex. Hotmail.) It’s use is for internal Angel course
mail ONLY. This email program allows you to see email from all of the online courses
you are taking in one place.

Click the “COMPOSE” button to send an email to the professor or classmate.

                                  Fall 2007 – ITC
                       Schenectady County Community College
To send a message, the first step is to “ADD RECPIENTS.”

The next step is to select a recipient, click the “TO” button then the “DONE” button.

The name should have been added. Type in a subject, the message and hit “SEND.”
