"Directions for creating printed comment labels for the back"
Directions for creating printed comment labels for the back of the first and second grade report cards: 1. You must buy at Office Max or any other business supply store AVERY mailing labels #8663. These labels are 2” x 4”. If you buy the clear labels, it will look like you printed directly onto the report card itself. The labels come in packages of 250, so they will last you a couple of years (or you could share with one another!) 2. Save the template to your hard drive and then open the “report card comments template” I created. Begin typing in the comments in the individual blocks. 3. When finished typing, you can save the changes to the template by going to “file” on your toolbar, clicking “Save as,” then changing the name of the file to something unique like “report card comments quarter one.” 4. After you close the program and then re-open it, you will find that you have the original template file and the quarter one file you created as well. 5. For the next quarter, you can then go back to the template or your first set of comments and make changes to them for the next round of report cards. A possible time saving suggestion…. Create a generic list of report card- like comments you often use. Save these comments in another file, open both files (your generic comments & the comment label template) and copy and paste the comments to fit the individual students’ description! You will do very little typing (after the initial list is created) and then just add your personal touches when finished. If you would like a real quick cutting and pasting tutorial, let me know. Literally, it could take five minutes!
