While the fear of interracial sexuality caused the murdering of Emmett Till and the belief that the legacy of slavery persisted in African American families brought social decay according to the Moynihan Report, science fiction films have reiterated the deviancy of black blood and possible negativity when mixed with white blood. Blood, interracial sex, civil rights struggles, and other African American experience serve as the useful frameworks to deconstruct blackness as constructed in science fiction films.
