With operating profits in decline
(down 29%) and revenues up just a bit to
$5.57 billion, Reed Business Information
(RBI) reported that it put several of its
publications up for sale again: Broad-
casting & Cable, Multichannel News,
Professional Builder, Publishers Weekly,
and Tradeshow Week. According to com-
pany reports, Reed Construction Data,
RSMeans, Variety, MarketCast, LA411,
and BuyerZone will be retained.
In other news, Reed Elsevier an-
nounced that RBI’s U.S. CEO Tad Smith
resigned; executive vice president and CFO
John Poulin stepped in as acting CEO.
