It isn't often that kids will go to camp and learn the fundamentals of both football and financial literacy, but thanks to a partnership between $556 million/58,000-member Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU), West Lafayette, IN, and NFL quarter-back Drew Brees, 450 underprivileged kids in Indiana experienced such a camp this summer. CU employees organize the curriculum and teach the financial literacy portion of the camp, focusing on budgeting basics and good spending patterns. This idea of financial literacy -- it's a very important part of their business at PEFCU.
