This article presents a systematic approach to process model design that is based on solid anatomical structure of the business system (BS), and one if the key steps of this approach is business processes identification that is done on the basis of the work object. This approach was conceived and formalized at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade, Serbia, and it is applied in more than 50 systems of production and service orientation in Serbia and abroad. One company in Serbia has nearly perfected this core business model. Process modeling is the basis for process treatment, implementation of all international norms, process reviewing and re-engineering, assessing and redesigning organizational structure and creating the foundation for management of the entire business system. That's why it is important to approach the process model design in a systematic and analytical way. Binding process models to anatomical structure ensures comprehensiveness of process identification, which eliminates the possibility of omission of some processes that can cause problems.
