May 13th We are pleased to introduce Janet Allinson of Siskinds. Janet is a member of our Commercial Litigation and Privacy Law Group. Janet will be providing important tips on how to prepare your business for the New Consumer Protection Act, coming into force this June, plus a quick update on the Privacy legislation. We are pleased to announce that Margaret Hachey, Executive Vice-President of Duocom Canada Inc., will be speaking at this session with respect to her career, achievements, trials and tribulations of her journey in the business world as well as balancing work and home life. Margaret founded Duocom in Toronto in 1980. Chatelaine and Profit magazines recognized her in 1999 as #7 in the Top 100 women business owners in Canada. For the past seven years, she has been on the Steering Committee of Step Ahead, a one-on-one mentoring program for women business owners. She is also on the Executive Board of Youth in Motion Education Foundation a non-profit organization to help youth gain access to higher education and a supporter of Women in Motion, an organization that helps young women in transition and sometimes at risk. July 8, 2005 On July 8, 2005, we are pleased to host the first "SISKINDS GRAB BAG - Questions, Answers and Tips". Don't miss the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session during which a panel of Siskinds experts will share their thoughts, experiences, insights and opinions in response to your questions. To facilitate discussion, in advance of the session, we encourage you to submit your questions by email to W2Wquestions@siskinds.com. The lunch time agenda, once again at the downtown Hilton Hotel, begins and ends with a networking opportunity with lunch and Q&A in-between. Our latest initiative to foster effective networking will also be unveiled at the July 8th session! The "Two Minute Profile" segment will give two regular attendees a chance to profile themselves and their business to this expanding, supportive group of business women. If you have previously attended at least two Siskinds lunch and learn sessions, your name will automatically be entered into a pool from which we will draw two names in advance of each session. We will contact you well in advance to confirm your interest in participating. September 15th – Speakers/Topic to be announced – hold the date in your busy schedules! The goals of the Siskinds Lunch and Learn Sessions are to provide a forum for the discussion of issues that are relevant to women in business and in the community , while fostering a supportive network for all. Venue: The Hilton Hotel, Ballroom to be announced. Lunch: Menu to be determined.
