Industry Conference of the Republic of Armenia (RA)
ArmTech Congress’08 adopted by the Armenian Government taking place in Yerevan
under the Patronage of the Prime Minister of Armenia

YEREVAN, Republic of Armenia and MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, USA – October 4, 2008 –
ArmTech Congress’08, the Global Armenian High Industry Conference to be held on October 4-5, 2008 at
the Marriott Hotel in Yerevan, Armenia. The event is aimed to provide effective networking between high
tech professionals interested in engaging in the global Armenian community and the rapidly developing
technology sector of Armenia: its careers, collaborations, investments, and resources. The conference is
held under the official auspices of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. This event is supported by
the High Tech Leading Industry Corporations, Academia, International Organizations and the US and
Armenian Governments. ArmTech Congress ’08 is co-chaired by Minister of Economy and supported by
Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Diaspora, and Education & Science.
“Armenia has successes in the High Tech field today. These successes have been achieved against the
background of Armenia’s exposed geo-political position, foreign political factors and limited natural
resources. The Government attaches high importance to the expansion of production capabilities and the
promotion of productivity growth through High Tech investments directed at overall economic growth,” said
Tigran Sargsyan, Prime Minister of RA. “In fulfilling the needs of the industry’s High Tech companies and to
address the issues raised above, it is important to accentuate the role of the annual ArmTech Congress,
which among other benefits also provides an efficient platform for High Tech professionals, businessmen,
scientists, individuals and organizations to improve their future technological vision, plans, skills and projects,
as well as to cooperate with the Government to help implement its targeted policy in this field.”
The ArmTech Congress’08 program features keynote speeches, technical and business papers and
presenters and expert panels from industry and academia. Scheduled keynote speakers include His
Excellency Tigran Sargsyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, and other high-rank officials from
the Armenian government, executives from operating corporations in Armenia as well as Universities and
Research Entities.
“We are very excited that ArmTech Congress is adopted as Armenia’s Global High Tech Industry
Conference. We are all honored by the presence of his Excellency Tigran Sargsyan and impressive
participants. ArmTech Congress’08 follows a very successful ArmTech Congress’07 that took place in Silicon
valley, California last year. The effective bridge between the Silicon Valley and Armenia is further
strengthened by these recurring events,” said Tony Moroyan, the founder and co-chair of ArmTech Congress
and a principal executive of High Tech ventures and trend setting start-ups. “Active collaboration with
executives representing leading high tech corporations such as Rich Goldman, the vice president of
Corporate Marketing & Strategic Alliances at Synopsys, and CEO of Synopsys Armenia, co-founder and co-
