NEW CANDIDATE CHECKLIST
Distribution: Candidate submits to SECTEP Coordinator at Preorientation.
CANDIDATE NAME ID NUMBER
I will complete the following program requirements within the required timeframe:
EDSC 310, 320, 330, AND 340 prior to beginning the credential program
EDSC 304/307 (or SSAT #30) required for SMPP (prior to beginning program or within first semester for non-
EDSC 410 prior to applying for a preliminary credential.
CPR prior to applying for a preliminary credential.
I understand that I will be considered for removal from the program if I
Exhibit academic dishonesty as defined by the University Catalog.
Exhibit inappropriate student conduct as defined by the University Catalog.
Exhibit unacceptable academic, field, pedagogical performance behaviors.
Fail to meet the standards set by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Fail to behave according to the standards of the profession, public schools, university, department, and /or
Fail to demonstrate credentialing competencies.
Miss any of the Orientation meetings during the first week of the Spring 2007 semester.
I will meet the following student teaching requirements:
Be present in my Extern & Student Teaching field experience from the beginning through the end of the public
Student teach only in content areas in which I am fully qualified.
If I am a FLM CANDIDATE, I WILL NOT STUDENT TEACH ABOVE ALGEBRA I.
I agree to abide by all policies in the Single Subject Credential Program Handbook, including
Credential Program Committee (CPC) Policy 1: Continued Participation in Credential Programs
Credential Program Committee (CPC) Policy 2: Proficiency in Written and Spoken English
Child Abuse Reporting Requirements
Sexual Harassment is Forbidden by Law
If applicable, I will meet the following Internship program requirements:
Request to intern only in approved districts.
Complete prerequisite EDSC 400 and EDSC 410 prior to beginning the Internship Program.
I understand that I must successfully meet all the requirements of EDSC 460 Teaching Performance Assessment
Seminar (i.e., completing the required TPA Tasks and IIP) before being recommended for a preliminary credential.
I agree not to enroll in classes that begin before 4:00 p.m. because they may conflict with fieldwork experiences in the
