SUMMARY
Responsible for the day to day operations of LifeCare Medical Services, Inc. in Division. Maintains
adequate personnel staff to effectively fulfill contractual and community obligations for patient care in
the cities and localities covered in assigned Division. Handles all hiring, orientation, education &
training, supervision, discipline, employee relations, problem solving, and termination of employees in
Division. Responsible for the upkeep and preventative maintenance of all vehicles (ambulance or
ambulette), equipment, and facilities in Division. Does all scheduling, payroll, and approves any Paid
Time Off of employees in Division. Ensures all employees in Division are compliant with licensing,
paperwork, and certification rules. Investigates any incident, accident, complaint, or concern and
resolves situations related to event. Works with Marketing Manager in Division on public relations and
marketing issues. Develops goals, budgets, and targets for the productivity of Division. Assures all
standards are met for compliance with Ohio Medical Transportation Board, Ohio State Board of
Pharmacy, local and city codes. Provides leadership to supervisors and employees in Division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

                     Must pass post job offer breath alcohol and drug test prior to starting assignment.
                     Must agree to random breath alcohol and drug tests per Company policy.

                Responsible for day to day operations:
                  Ensures all schedules are filled with adequate, qualified personnel.
                  All vehicles are maintained to required specifications.
                  Maintains responsible inventory management.
                  Handles any problem solving issues quickly.
                  Is a liaison to public, business acquaintances, Medical Director for LifeCare.
                  Maintains open communication with Dispatch, Supervisors, Managers, and Directors.

                Hiring, Orientation, Training, Discipline, Termination of Employees
                  Screens and Interviews applicants.
                  Requests MVR, Drug testing, fingerprint (background check) on qualified applicants.
                  Upon hiring of an individual, completes all necessary employee paperwork promptly
                    and forwards to Human Resources in Administration.
                  Ensures all employees provide and maintain proper certification for their position.
                  Provides employee orientation, training, and education to ensure excellent patient
                    care and customer service by new employees.
                  Oversees Driver’s Education and appropriate vehicle safety training.

                   Provides counseling, disciplines employees when necessary.
                   Handles any resignation or termination of employee in Division.

              Scheduling, Payroll, Paid Time Off (PTO)
                Handles all scheduling of employees and vehicles in Division.
                Ensures all shifts are covered.
                Maintains adequate hours for each employee.
                Regulates overtime.
                Approves any Paid Time Off.
                Provides hours for Payroll to Director of Operations each pay period.

              Vehicles & Equipment
                Maintains all necessary licensing, inspections, preventative maintenance are done on
                 any Company vehicle, equipment, or facility used in Division.
                Ensures employees maintain necessary inventory of supplies in each vehicle.
                Responsible for overseeing that crews adequately wash and wax their assigned
                 vehicle.
                Reports to Director of Safety & Health any accident or incident involving a Company
                 vehicle.
                Displays a working knowledge of equipment used in Division.

              Compliance
                Ensures each employee in Division has licensing and accreditations up to date.
                Maintains Company vehicles are compliant to standards of City, State, and Ohio
                 Medical Transportation Board and able to pass any inspection.
                Responsible for the upkeep of Company buildings in compliance with any inspection.
                Ensures any medication in inventory or on board Company vehicles are current –
                 those with expired dates are discarded.
                Ensure Medical Protocol is maintained in office and each Company vehicle in Division.

              Incidents, Accidents, Complaint
                Investigates any incident, accident, or complaint in Division.
                Communicates event to appropriate management personnel: President, Director or
                  Operations, Director of Health & Safety, Director of Patient Accounts.

              Public Relations / Community Involvement / Marketing
                Is Liaison for the Company with any affiliate from community persons, business
                 associates, or facility personnel LifeCare services or may service in future.
                Works along side Manager of Marketing in Division on marketing issues.

              Confidentiality
                Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with HIPAA
                 regulations, as well as sensitive Company and employee information.

               Attends Meetings
                 Attends Company meetings, upon request.

              Goals, Targets, and Budgets
                Sets goals and targets to maintain or increase productivity in Division.
                Maintains a strict budget within the parameters set for the Division.

                Demonstrates effective verbal communication skills when interacting with other
                 employees, patients, and customers in person or on the telephone.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has supervisory responsibilities of any Operations Supervisor in Division, Emergency Medical
Technicians – EMT (basic or intermediate), and Paramedics (EMT-P).

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous managerial experience in the EMS
field preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

COMPUTER / TYPING SKILLS
Ability to type and work efficiently with computer, printers, faxes, e-mails and computer software:
Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.
