The Director of Development is a member of the school’s administrative team reporting to the
Principal. The Director of Development is responsible for leading the School’s advancement
program as adopted by the school. The Director will also be responsible for developing and
maintaining active and productive relationships with the school’s public.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

   • Designs, implements and manages all fundraising activities including annual giving,
       endowment and capital campaigns, special projects, and other school-related solicitations.
   • Manages all strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations.
   • Maintains contact with and develops grant proposals for foundations and corporations.
   • Develops and implements parent and class-based fundraising programs within the Annual
   • Develops a comprehensive planned-giving program as the need becomes appropriate.
   • Assists in the development and conduct of a feasibility study for Capital Campaign.
   • Assists in the development and conduct of a Capital Campaign

School Council and Antonian Educational Foundation
   • Works with the development committee, the educational foundation and the Principal to
       develop strategies to initiate and meet aggressive fundraising goals.
   • Develops fundraising training for educational foundation trustees and other leadership
   • Assumes responsibility for all development.
   • Assists the educational foundation with recommending and researching potential new

Development Office Infrastructure
   • Creates office systems to support all development projects and operations.
   • Supervises donor and gift record-keeping.
   • Coordinates development research activities.
   • Oversees the management of databases and all records, files, and gift processing.
   • Manages the pledge reminder and acknowledgement programs.

Alumni Relations
   • Manages and maintains the alumni database.
   • Organizes and supports an alumni association.
   • Organizes alumni events, collects news and information about the members of the alumni
      for publication, and keeps accurate records of the school’s alumni.
Parent Relations
   • Works with the parent annual fund committee to identify and train a core group of
       volunteers to assist in the annual giving, special events and other fundraising programs as

Public Relations, Marketing, and Advertising
   • Works closely with the director of admissions, student activities coordinator and the
       Principal to develop public relations plan and an advertising plan.
   • Designs and oversees production of all major publications, including a development
       newsletter, the Annual Report, the School’s website, and working with designers and
       printers to promote the school’s fundraising goals and activities.
   • Creates and implements a communication and promotional plan for the Capital
   • Develops and implements strategies to promote Antonian College Preparatory High
       School’s mission to both the internal constituencies of the School and the community at


   •   A minimum of 3 years professional fundraising experience, preferably in Catholic
   •   Proven experience in designing and managing development and alumni relations
   •   Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board
       members, donors, parents, administrators and faculty.
   •   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
   •   Ability to work as a leader and as part of a team.
   •   Familiarity with traditional Catholicism.

Position Description:
We are seeking a Development Director with proven and successful experience to lead the design and
implementation of our fundraising and communications strategy.

The Development Director is responsible for all development activities to include fundraising initiatives,
grant development and solicitation of the organization. He/she directly plans and directs the development
and implementation of the annual giving plan including cultivating and maintaining relationships with new
and existing donors and supporters, developing and building a major gifts program, and researching and
writing grant proposals. The Director is also responsible for managing all special events. As a member of
the schools administrative team, the Development Director participates in strategic planning and budget
initiatives in addition to financial issues. He/she works within the guidelines, policies, and mission of the
organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned including the
conduct of a feasibility study and capital campaign. Current overall fundraising goal for fiscal year 2008-
