Presentation Focus: Abstract:
Use of measure and indicator portlets to facilitate dashboard design:
•Utilizing Time Series based quick views to report on
          •regional performance
          •data (sales channel) source performance
    •Key metric areas
•customer counts - Year over Year MTD & YTD
          • net dollars produced - Year over Year MTD & YTD
Practical Application:
Report:
WHI currently utilizes DIAL scripting to send out reports to the Regional e-
Commerce Business Coordinators (EBCs) and their managers.
•EBCs have a 15% target for growth YOY for the same month and YTD vs LYTD.
•Their managers take action if they fall below these levels.
Dashboard:
The dashboard is being designed for the Regional Managers and the
Director of e-Commerce to supplement emailed reports grading EBC
performance. (Dashboard Currently in Development Environment Only)
•Simplified presentation on how their EBCs are performing
•Delivers more value than a static email as they can vary the time series quick
view to change the historical perspective.

•Sketch out desired dashboard concept before opening diveport
•Plan on iterative design process as you work thru concept to actual
•De-Clutter if needed (make two pages instead of 1)

•RAM & Performance
•Ensure smallest footprint on base markers thru pre aggregation of models focused on the
key metric dimensions needed to support measures and indicators targets.
•Portaldb.xml – close connections behind you to ease RAM utilization

•Time series – excellent way to control Indicators and Measures

•Portlets
•Indicators can be configured either thru the template or supporting “config” files.
•Utilize the html portlets to customize presentation, and or add links to related information
•Utilize click action on portlets to bring up additional information
•Cross Link Popups, Downlinks, Websites, Info, Help

•Diveport (manual page) designer functionality
•good but always room for improvement
