					Simple but excellent

Guinness Ice Cream

1 1/2 cans guiness draught beer (tw errors on side of a little extra)
1 large egg
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 cups heavy whipping cream

Pour Guinness into a pan. (Note, you should drink the leftover while
you prepare
this recipe.) Boil it down to 1 1/2 cups, and then leave on the stove on low
heat. Mix the
egg and sugar in a bowl. Mix in milk, then mix in the warm Guinness
concentrate. Mix in
cream. Chill mix in refrigerator for about an hour. Mix in ice cream maker.
Makes around
2 quarts.

2 things to note (from copy of recipe not from TW)

1. you can use any guiness like dark draught beer (I used young’s double
chocolate stout and it was extremely good).

2. In my expirience you just need barely over the 1 1/2 cups you need to add
to
the recipe to boil. It doesn’t boil off very much unless you cook it for a
long time
I found around 5 minutes to be sufficient. So I would say you don’t need
much more
than 18-20 oz instead of the 24 the recipe calls for.
