CALL FOR NON-SOLICITED PROPOSALS WRC Call for Non-Solicited Proposals for Projects Commencing on 1st April 2009 The WRC is pleased to announce the call for non-solicited proposals for the next financial year commencing on 1 April 2009. Note that the WRC's financial year extends from 1 April to 31 March. All annual project budgets will be required to coincide with this financial year period. The call for Solicited proposals and associated terms of reference will commence on 18 June 2008. Please familiarise yourself with the information below before you start preparing an application. NON-SOLICITED FUNDING The following table indicates the anticipated distribution of funds for new projects within each KSA for each of the 2 main funding streams (This is important to consider when responding to the 2008 call for proposals). Please note that these allocations are only an indication of the proposed distribution. The final amounts may differ and are subject to change at the discretion of the WRC Executive. Please ensure that applications are completed well in advance of the deadlines as the volume and external factors such as load shedding could affect the efficiency of the system. It is also advisable to download the Guidelines for Proposal Preparation and Submission from the website before you start preparing an application. Also take note of the list of solicited proposal titles at the end to avoid duplication. KSA 1: WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT The new envisaged projects will continue to support the implementation of the NWA as per strategically defined priorities. SOLICITED FUNDING – INDICATIVE TITLES The call for Solicited proposals and full details such as budget allocations, time frames and terms of reference will commence on 18 June 2008. It is however, important to take note of the titles of the planned solicited projects in order to avoid preparing and submitting a bid for nonsolicited research funding when a similar solicited research project is planned.
