The characteristics and development prospects of backfilling in deep mines are discussed. The authors
propose a new engineering solution for the long-distance pipeline transport of the high density
consolidating backfills by using hydrodynamic pressure activators. This technology allows a longer
transportation distance, up to 3.5 km. The pilot-full-scale test procedure for the technology is developed
and proved on a test ground in Oktyabrsky Mine, Transpolar Branch of “GMK Norilsk Nickel” Joint-
      Stock Co.
