Welcome to our Fifth Newsletter This edition comes at a time of busy but extremely successful activity. We have enrolled new staff, welcomed new clients and travelled the length and breadth of the country. We are delighted to announce the launch of our „new look‟ website. Here you can view details of the Products and Services we offer, as well as finding out a little bit more about CETL and our Key Personnel. So why not take a moment to have a look and see how we can help you. Lately, soaring utility prices are making daily headlines. Here at CETL our goal is to help our clients make the best possible use of their smartMETERing data to enable them to achieve their utility efficiency goals. Our UEM and Solutions services deliver genuine environmental improvements as well as significant financial benefits – at a time when every penny counts. With the mantra “Work Hard / Play Hard” in mind, we headed off to Chester for our Summer Social Event for a well deserved day at the races. As you will see we all had a wonderful evening; good food, wine and the occasional spot of luck on the horses.

Global Warming
With the “Great British Summer” threatening to be a washout, you may find yourself thinking that a bit of Global Warming wouldn‟t go amiss. However, better barbeque weather and nice sun tans do come with environmental consequences! Sceptics consider Global Warming to be a natural phenomenon, arguing the Earth‟s climate does go through changes, having experienced at least four major Ice Ages. However, there is increasing evidence that man-made greenhouse gases are contributing to rising sea levels, increasing temperatures, and severe global weather. These changes are impacting on the world's organisms and on the lives of millions of people, especially those living in areas vulnerable to extreme natural conditions such as flooding and drought. In recent months, business groups have banded together to make unprecedented calls for regulation of greenhouse gases. The Royal Society (The UK‟s National Academy of Science) outlines first and foremost the importance of businesses to reduce the demand for energy and increase efficiency substantially.
Turning Down the Heat
Your heating costs will go up by 8% each time you turn your thermostat up by one degree. Where possible try and keep your home at a comfortable 19˚C, saving fuel and money.

Congratulations
Well done to Vince Hulley, one of our directors, who played a storming game of squash to become the Over 60‟s County Champion. Vince impressively beat Phil Greenhalgh 3-1 in the final of the Lancashire County Closed Squash Championship in April.
All Change
In May we were sorry to say goodbye to one of our Marketing Officers, Katie Senior, who moved on to pastures new. We wish her all the luck for the future and hopes that she keeps in touch. We would like to give a big warm welcome to Matt Collis who has taken over the role. After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in English, Matt became a customer service advisor for a large travel company. Matt is now the Editor of this quarterly Newsletter and a valued addition to the team.
Website
July sees the launch or our new look website. After months of hard work, CETL were excited to finally see it go live, and the feedback we have received has been extremely positive.
Summer Do
In June the whole team packed up early and journeyed to Chester for The Midsummer Meeting. Special thanks go to Charlotte Sellers our Senior Administrator, who took on the massive project, and was the driving force behind its creation. If you would like to see the brand new website then please visit us at www.cetl.co.uk
Locked Up!
We arrived in the early afternoon and the Ladies hit the shops whilst the Gents ventured to the local Snooker Hall. The hotel provided us with a lovely buffet before we set off to the racecourse. It was a rocky start with Alan Green our CEO and fellow Director Vince Hulley both betting on a horse that sat down in the stalls but the big winner was Matt Collis our new Marketing Officer. We finished with late night drinks back at the hotel bar. It was a brilliant evening and we are all looking forward to the next social event. Many of our clients require surveys in order for us to assess and photograph the meters on site. When Janet Ackary and Charlotte Sellers recently visited a Police Station, they got more than they bargained for and almost didn‟t return! Luckily it was only a temporary stay and the girls were released without charge, taking their evidence with them. Our next newsletter will be published in October
