Lexington School District Four ( The District) is requesting proposals for painting the exterior of the building at Swansea High School, 500 East First Street, Swansea, SC 29160. Specific details for the project are contained in the Scope of Work which follows. GENERAL NOTICES The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to cancel this request in its entirety. All proposals will be treated as public information unless it is specifically requested that portions of the proposals be treated as Trade Secrets under the Freedom of Information Act. Such portions must be conspicuously labeled CONFIDENTIAL. The District may cancel the contract at any time in the event services prove to be unsatisfactory.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Questions and Answers Period Questions concerning this solicitation must be received in writing through email no later than 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2008. A listing of written questions and answers will be supplied to interested parties upon request. Direct all questions through e-mail to: Dave Toole dtoole@lexington4.net Work Site Visit It is required for contractors to visit the worksite located at Swansea High School, 500 East First Street, Swansea, SC 29160 prior to submitting a proposal. Proposals Received One (1) hardcopy of the proposal must be received no later than 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at: Monroe Pinckney Administrative Office Lexington School District Four 607 East Fifth Street Swansea, SC 29160 Please indicate, “Proposal for Painting SHS” on the outside of the envelope of the sealed proposal. Proposals will be opened at 2:01 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Administrative Office. Any proposal received later than the specified time will not be considered. Notice of Award Notice of Intent to Award will be made via posting on the District Web site (www.lexington4.net) by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Right to Protest Protest of the contract award must be made in writing to the district superintendent no later than 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2008. Linda G. Work to be scheduled to avoid interruption to the school day and must be completed by July 1, 2009. ADDITONAL REQUIREMENTS Bidders must include the following in their responses: 1. At least two (2) references from previous work site owners 2. Experience and certification of staff who will work on the project 3. Listing of similar work completed in the last 12 months
VENDOR SELECTION The District will select the vendor whose proposal represents the best value for the District. Selection will not be made solely on price. District will consider: 1. Comprehensiveness of work plan 2. Technical experience of the firm 3. Qualifications of staff 4. References 5. Cost SCOPE OF WORK The following information must be used for submitting proposals: 1. 2. Pressure wash facility to remove dirt, debris and loose paint. Fill cracks/holes with appropriate exterior calking material.
