University Aviation Association Receives Grant Award from Wolf Aviation Fund
Auburn, Alabama, June 21, 2004 – The University Aviation Association (UAA) is a recipient of a supportive grant for 2003 from the Alfred L. and Constance C. Wolf Aviation Fund. The award will provide partial funding to assist UAA in disseminating information about collegiate aviation programs and scholarships to public high schools throughout the United States. Specifically, the organization will distribute CD versions of two publications--the Collegiate Aviation Guide (CAG) and the Collegiate Aviation Scholarship Listing. The CAG is a comprehensive listing of 112 colleges and universities that offer academic degree programs in aviation. The Scholarship Listing is a compilation of detailed information on more than $1.4 million in scholarships. The intent of both publications is to serve as useful references for prospective students and their parents as well as counselors, educators, and industry and government personnel. The Wolf Aviation Fund was created to help individuals work together in support of general aviation and the community it serves. Since 1992, numerous grants have been awarded. “We are honored to be recognized by the Wolf Aviation Fund with this grant,” said Carolyn Williamson, UAA executive director. “The wide distribution made possible by this grant could exponentially increase access to this valuable information by those who need it and, in particular, those who might not otherwise have access to it.” UAA represents more than 600 members consisting of two- and four-year post-secondary institutions offering academic degrees in aviation, and government and aviation industry organizations with an interest in collegiate aviation education. For more information, visit UAA’s Web site at www.uaa.aero. ###
