WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THIS SPAM?
Is the filter working? Can’t you block these SPAM messages? I put the SPAM in my junk mail but they still keep filling my Inbox! What can we do about it? Monroe-Woodbury’s Maia Mailguard is our SPAM/VIRUS gateway. The filter, put into action November 8, 2006 has caught 2,258,148 SPAM Messages (Yes, over 2 Million!) It has caught and quarantined 71966 VIRUSES (282.6 / per day!) Putting SPAM in your Junk Mail Folder does not work. The junk folder reads the exact address of the e-mail address. Spammers NEVER use the same addresses, the FROM: Field may contain any name, even MW address! (To try to trick you into opening the message). What we can do is once a week or more, go to our SPAM filter and TEACH the filter what is SPAM and what is not. It will attempt to LEARN your choices and CATCH SPAM or ALLOW Mail to go to your Inbox that you choose. This also gives you a tool to check why you have not received an e-mail that someone sent. Did it get caught in the SPAM filter? Does it have a Virus and was caught in the VIRUS Filter?
WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?

Welcome to Maia Mailguard!
Take action against the onslaught of unwanted email with Maia Mailguard. When mail is listed in the lower right pane, you can train Maia regarding the difference between good email (non-spam) and unwanted email (spam). Please take the time to be sure that all items are reported correctly; if you don't have time to do so, please delete all the items rather than reporting them incorrectly. Keep in mind, Maia can and will report items confirmed as spam to other services and authorities. By keeping up with the reporting process, you can help fight the spam war.

SPAM CACHE
This is SPAM caught by our filter, it is there for you to confirm it is actually SPAM so the system will LEARN. Also it is there to check if a FALSE POSITIVE (A Good e-mail tagged as SPAM) was caught in the SPAM CACHE. This system SCORES email. If an e-mail accumulative score is 5.0 or higher it is considered SPAM. THESE E-MAILS ARE NOT DELIVERED TO YOUR INBOX. If a False Positive does appear as Suspected Spam, you can classify it as Non-Spam.
