SharePoint Services
  1. What is SharePoint Services
         a. A powerful toolset for organizing information, managing documents, and
            providing efficient collaboration environments.
         b. Access content stored within a SharePoint Site

         a. Sites makes it easy for users to work together on documents, tasks,
            contact, events and other information
         b. SharePoint Site consists of

                v. Announcements
               vi. Upcoming events
  3. A portal has multiple SharePoint sites, information, and applications for an
     organization


How to Access the Portal
  1. Open the Internet
  2. Type wpsportal1 in the Address box.
  3. Click “Go”

Homepage Navigation Bar




Home Page is the main home page of the portal

News is a list of areas that may be of interest to the user

Sites is a list of areas that the user can navigate to

Services are a list of services available through the portal. Student Services contains
links to services dedicated to student instruction such as eSIS and Data Warehouse.
Employee Services contains links to services focused on staff and classroom needs such
as Employee Attendance, Clipart.com and MyLearningplan.com

Training will take you to a tutorial that you can go through to learn more about the portal

SITES
The Site Directory
lists Web sites
associated with the
portal site. You can
browse for sites based
on their properties,
search for sites, and
find sites of special
interest in Spotlight
Sites.




SubSites

When you click on a
site, such as AMAC,
you will get a list of
subsites associated
with that site.

Subsite Homepage


When you click on a
subsite, such as “Risk
Management” you
will be taken to their
Home page.

From here, you can
open documents that
are listed, click on
Contacts to see a list
of personnel, or
answer surveys.

You will see
announcements and a
list of up coming
events associated
with that department.

There also will be a list of links that will direct you to other websites that the site
manager thought would be of interest to the user.


Subsite Navigation Bar

Home will take you the current site’s home page

Documents and Lists will give you list of current documents the site has to offer. These
are also displayed in the Navigation Bar on the left of the home page

Create is for the site manager

Site Settings is for the site manager

Help will take to the portal help page

Up to Wichita Public Schools Intranet Portal will take you back to the Homepage of the
Portal. (What is listed will change according to what site you are in).
