Picnik’s new MySpace application to bring photo-editing superpowers to the World's Largest Social Network
SEATTLE—April 21, 2008— Picnik (www.picnik.com), the leading online photo-editor today announced that it has launched its newest application on MySpace (http://myspace.com/getpicnik), the world's most popular social network. Now, any MySpace user can utilize Picnik’s award-winning photo editor right in their personal MySpace page. Empowered by MySpace’s newly announced Developer Platform (http://developer.myspace.com), Picnik was able to easily build and ultimately deploy Picnik for MySpace allowing the millions of users to access endless photo-editing freedom. MySpace users can now take any photo in their album and easily transform it to something spectacular with Picnik’s highend special effects, editing tools, shapes, unique fonts and frames, and then save it back to their album - all without having to leave their MySpace page. Furthermore, users can add photos to their MySpace albums from anywhere else their photos are stored because Picnik is fully-integrated with a variety of websites including Flickr, Picasa and Photobucket. MySpace first introduced their Developer Platform site on February 5, 2008, beginning a one-month application development period allowing companies like Picnik time to build and test their applications in a secure environment before going live to the MySpace community. On March 13, 2008, MySpace launched the public beta of the Application Gallery (http://apps.myspace.com), enabling broader testing of approved applications by allowing public installation. MySpace members can now discover and add new applications from a variety of categories, including Picnik, to both their home and profile pages.
