Thank You Poems written by Lori A. Swantek
THANK YOU Thank you for your pledge to United Way. With your pledge, you’re helping your neighbors every day. Bringing a smile, some hope, some help…more than you know. You’re making a difference in our community and helping it grow. You’re sowing seeds that bring beauty in lives and when you give. Your life too is filled with joy and blossomed with blessings where you live. By: Lori A Swantek

I DO BELIEVE It's the time of year when leaves begin to fall, When giving and thanksgiving come upon us all. Candy treats, turkey meals and presents soon we'll receive, And again there will be one less fortunate who wants to believe. And when the leaves have fallen and snow has filled the ground, We'll cozy in our homes and blankets and friends will gather around. Coffee and sweets, warmth and love, these blessings we've received, And again there will be one less fortunate person who wants to believe. In believing we expect with confidence we'll have in each day, A home and food, clothing and love and friendship along the way. And in this world of hunger, selfishness, hate and greed, I do believe that you believe we're fortunate indeed. By: Lori A Swantek
You could have said no when asked to give – my dollar is my own. You could have made a frown when asked to give or even made a moan. You could have thought of yourself and all that pleases you. You could have said what’s mine is mine, I need some blessings too. BUT…. Although your life is important – you thought of another instead. Because of your giving - someone has a place to lay their head. Although your needs are great – you looked beyond to see another. Because of your giving – a child’s hope is restored to the joy of his mother. Although you may have given from your bounty or more than you could spare - oh what giving grace. What world of difference you are making in empty lives and to a hungry face. Although the Lord says give and in return you shall receive, I’m sure you know it’s true. If someone wasn’t willing to help another sometime, someplace, somewhere, love would never blossom anew. So I send a little thank you but my words are only words and what they can’t do. Is provide the care for an elderly man or women – it takes the help from you. Because you responded, our community will become a better place to live. And so we pray all may know the honor of shelter for mind, body and soul our Lord longs to give. By: Lori A Swantek United Way Thank You In a world full of busyness you stopped to take the time with good intent To make a generous contribution, hard earned and easy spent Life blesses those who in their hearts have striven Day by day to bring a joy to those for whom you’ve given For all the pleasures and attachments, your heart a message sends It’s not what we keep for ourselves which happiness depends For joy is made double when with others we do share And someone somewhere is smiling because you took the time to care Please know the love that you have shown keeps others from losing their destined way And conveys the greatest gift upon which will bring a brighter day. By: Lori A Swantek Thank you for your gift to United Way! Kindness is an inner sun not seen but stored within. All one’s gifts are never gone when love resides therein.
