Occupational Field: 23 (Meteorology). Title. The official Navy title of the general rate or rating during the period of the exhibit dates.
Rating Designation. The official Navy system of identifying occupations and their levels; listed in ascending order according to rate. Occupation Field. Two digit
number and title designating a group of related ratings.

Exhibit Dates. Start and end dates by month and year. An end date of “Present” indicates that the general rate or rating still exists. “Pending Evaluation” means that the general rate or rating is scheduled to be evaluated.
Career Pattern. Path of advancement. Shows prerequisite general rate and subsequent progression in a rating; the designation is provided for each rate, followed by the title and paygrade (in parentheses).
Description. A summary description applying to all rates, and a separate description of the skills, competencies, and knowledge required for proficiency in each rate.
Recommendation. By rate. Only the recommendation for the highest rate held should be used; the recommendations should not be added. Educational credit is expressed in semester hours and recommended in four categories: vocational certificate, lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree, upper-division baccalaureate, and graduate degree.
Team Review Date. Date when the rate/rating was last evaluated by a team of faculty members drawn from academia. This information is particularly useful in subject areas where stateof-the-art is important in determining the applicability of credit. ACE’s policy is that Team Reviews must occur at least every ten years.
Review Date. Most recent date the rate/rating was reviewed, either by an academic team or in-house by ACE (in-house reviews are conducted when changes to rate/rating content are minor).
