October 2006 Newsletter
*** Meeting Location***
Sonny Hancock Chevrolet
1/4 mile south of I-85 exit 22.
Hello again fellow Camaro Club Members,
Hope everyone had a great summer. We’re now we are getting into the fall season, which means the
holidays are coming soon. This also means we are getting close to the time to elect officers and board
members to lead the club in 2007 and beyond. Don’t forget the club’s new-year starts in January.
I’ve asked Steve Degroat and Jimmy Felton to assist in finding people to fill these positions. I will also be
on the committee with Steve and Jimmy. So anyone that has interest in serving the club please call or see
one of us.
I want to give a special thanks to Paul and Sarah for the years they have worked to make Auto Fair a
success twice a year. They have to step down after leading this effort for a long time. The club gave them
a $50.00 gift certificate to one of their favorite restaurants at the September meeting. Members like Paul
and Sarah make the club strong and reliable.
We are close to tying up the lose ends on our upcoming Christmas Cruise for Kids Show. We need all
members to help the day of the show. Awards and tee shirts are in process. Also, at the show lets all thank
Beth Jones with Hendrick Motorsports for working so hard to make this show possible. Any door prizes,
silent auction items and sponsorships anyone can obtain will be more things to turn into funds to purchase
toys for the kids at the hospital. Enclosed is a receipt you can give to donors. At this point we are
looking at making the trip to the Shriner’s Hospital on the November 27th. I will have more information
in the near future.
I would like to welcome Bill and Linda Spittle to the club. They were at the September meeting and made
the decision to join. Lets all make them feel at home.
Please see the note from Joe on page two regarding viewing the newsletter on the web. This is long
overdue, especially now that we have our website up and running. Your cooperation is appreciated.
In closing let’s all our men & women in the armed forces. It looks as if they will still be in a dangerous
land away from their families as the holiday season approaches. They certainly need our thoughts and
prayers as do our country’s leaders so that they may make the best decisions to keep our country safe.
Hope to you at the October meeting at Sonny Hancock at 7:00 PM sharp. We’ll have more information on
the show and will start plans for the club Christmas party.
