HL7 Press Release Request Form

Submittal & Approval Process:
All HL7 press releases and requests must be submitted to the office of the Director of Communications,
Andrea Ribick. We ask that you provide us with as much as two weeks time to review/draft the release,
finalize it and prepare it to pitch to news media to garner potential news briefs. All news release requests
can be sent to Andrea Ribick (andrea@HL7.org or +1 (734) 677-6622.). After your request has been
submitted, you will be notified via email within approximately two to three days as to whether your request
has been approved or denied; if your request was denied, you will be notified as to the reason why a release
was not deemed necessary or newsworthy. If your request was approved, you may be contacted for more
information. Once written, the release will be sent to the work group that requested it for approval. The final
release will be reviewed by the HL7 Marketing Council co-chairs and then it must receive final approval by
the Director of Communications before its dissemination.
All HL7 news releases are sent via email through the HL7 Media list serve. We request that we have at least
three days to a week as part of this process to query healthcare IT trade media personally to see if they are
interested in interviewing an HL7 spokesperson or committee member in order to use the news to generate
