does not resolve disputes about appraised value.
The Board will evaluate a complaint to determine if the appraiser violated the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification
Act, Board Rules, or the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
When the complaint is received, a preliminary review will be conducted to determine if the Board has jurisdiction over
the matter forming the basis of the complaint. If the matter is not within the Board’s jurisdiction, the complainant will be
notified by mail.
If the Board has jurisdiction, the complaint will be investigated. If additional information is necessary, Board staff will
contact the complainant. A copy of the complaint may be provided to the appraiser and/or the person against whom the
complaint is filed. This complaint and information in the Board files may have to be provided to the public upon request
in accordance with the Public Information Act (Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code).
The investigation and resolution of complaints may take an extended period of time due to a variety of factors, including
the complexity of the issues involved and current workload.
