Frakes took his motto a step further as he and his team designed and built the Coyote Ridge Correctional Complex, the first prison campus under review for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)'s silver certification, a rating based on a facility's water conservation, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, responsible building-materials selection and sustainable site development. MCC is home to a 200-bed inpatient sex offender treatment program and the Special Offender Unit, which provides diagnosis, treatment and intensive staff supervision for 400 mentally ill inmates.
