[...] this makes the mix a little more tricky, particularly in numbers like "Expressing Yourself," in which two small boys have to carry a big number, but the new arrangements by Martin Koch sound so much better with the larger band. [...] Billy's audition scene has gone through many iterations over successive productions, and each version has offered new challenges and opportunities for recorded voices and effects. The advantages of this system are that the tap sound is entirely independent of the vocal and musical sound, has huge gain before feedback, and is surprisingly immune to non-tap foot noise.
