The Induction Quandary 10:15-11:30

Using Infant Massage in Your Practice 2:00-3:15

We live in a world that has shifted to a high tech, low touch society.  We're seeing more cesareans
and interventions, while focusing less on parent/baby bonding immediately following birth.   Infant
massage is a simple, yet effective way to promote bonding, improve circulation, boost the immune
system, increase trust between infant and parent, and much more.  We will discuss and practice
some basic infant massage techniques that can be taught to new parents within the scope of our
    doula work.

Kym Dalton, CCE, CLD, ICCE Childbirth Educator Director
Fast Food Babies?- Childbirth Education Today 3:30-4:45

With families feeling the pressing urgency between time, commitments, work and preparation,
many couples today are seeking out “Express” forms of childbirth preparation. This “fast food”
mentality is becoming a reality for today’s educators. Learn about what is currently being offered
across the nation in the classroom and on the internet and how educators can cope with this
changing landscape. This presentation addresses how to offer the education needed in limited
time frames, how to evolve your curriculum, the best internet resources and how to encourage
families to seek out what they need instead of what they think they want.
